Electric Gate Upgrade – New Automatic Vehicle Exit

We are making a small improvement to the electric gate at Thalassa View Gardens to make leaving the complex easier and to help reduce wear on the existing grey exit button.

The grey button is currently used every time a vehicle leaves the complex and, with more than 80 properties on site, it receives a considerable amount of use.

A new magnetic vehicle sensor is therefore being installed at the exit. The sensor will detect vehicles approaching the gate and send a signal to the gate system, allowing the gate to open automatically without the driver having to stop and press the grey button.

How will it work?

When leaving Thalassa View Gardens, simply drive towards the gate as normal. As your vehicle passes over the detection area, the sensor will recognise the metal in the vehicle and activate the gate.

The gate will then open, allowing you to drive out without having to use the grey exit button. This type of system is commonly known as a free-exit vehicle detector.

What about bicycles and scooters?

The new system is designed primarily to detect cars, vans and other motor vehicles.

Because the sensor works by detecting the metal content of a vehicle rather than its weight, pedal bicycles and some smaller or lightweight scooters may not reliably activate it. If the gate does not open automatically, please continue to use the existing grey exit button.

The grey button is not being removed and will remain available whenever manual operation is required.

A small improvement to everyday life at TVG

Although this is a relatively small change, it should make leaving the complex quicker and more convenient while reducing the amount of daily use of the existing exit button.

It is one of the smaller improvements being made around Thalassa View Gardens to help maintain the complex and make everyday life a little easier for our community.
